October round-up

 I ended up not working on any of the things I intended to this past month; my October was all-around not particularly spooky! I didn't even put up my normal decorations...But I did finish the needle cases:

And here they are in the case:

I love them so much, so glad I picked up this kit. I'm trying to figure out how practical this set may be to use regularly...Just have spooky season all year!

Part of why I didn't work on any of my planned projects is I got distracted by a project from the Winter Pieceworks issue, about Riešinės, knit wrist warmers from Lithuania. You pre-string beads on the yarn, and then as you knit, work the beads into the pattern. I had the right yarn weight in my stash, and plenty of beads! I ended up just using the technique from the article; and instead adapted a brocade tablet weaving pattern to make my own design:
    

Which turned out wonderfully excessive! It is a little worrying to do, because you actually slide the beads on the right side, when you're working the wrong side. So the pattern rows look like this:

There was a lot of flipping back and forth, to make sure I hadn't miscounted anything.

Made it to 2026!

 Already starting the year off better than last! Apparently my earliest 2025 post was in February, so I'm calling this one a win. As exp...
