Back from another lovely trip to Salty Yarns, which means I have new projects!
These were the two classes I took. I have been *coveting* the Anglo Indian workbox for years, so I'll be adding that to my to-do list. I signed up for the Glorious Pouch sight-unseen, but I've seen the bigger workbag it accompanies so I knew I'd like the colors and general motif. And I was not disappointed! It's super cute, and I think will be a fairly quick stitch and construction. But this may have to wait until the current to-dos is done, and I make a new list.
Being at Salty Yarns, and even knowing I would leave with two new class pieces does not mean I didn't also shop:
Three new little kits. The Sweetheart Tree had a whole alphabet, so when I saw S was for Sewing and Stitching it kind of needed to come home with me. When I was but a small child my mom would get me the little Mill Hill bead kits, so I took a look at those out of nostalgia. This one had the right Halloween vibe so it also needed to come home with me. Same with the pumpkin beaded fob from Fern Ridge. I always like a Fern Ridge kit, and I was happy to do some bead weaving again.
Which is why that one got done before I even got home. My mom (also on the trip) took more classes than me, so I had 3 days of class and 3 days of super chilling. So this got knocked out on one of the days I didn't take a nap instead.
Speaking of progress! Since I knew I'd be leaving with two new class pieces and probably at least one thing from the shop, the only thing I brought with me to work on is the Anacapa shawl. And it's so close to being done now!
It's finally to a point I can lay it out and show my progress without it just looking like a lump of tangles! Before the trip I had gotten it to the final pattern repeat, so I just needed to do one or two more rows at the hotel. So now all I have left is to finish that edging. That is 2 out of the 5 pattern panels completed! If you can't tell by the number of exclamation points, I am so frikkin excited to get this piece finished. The problem with having a go-to travel project is that it feels like it takes forever to get anywhere with if you only actually travel a few times a year. So this is no longer my travel project, it is my get it frikkin done project.
